Floyd County Technical High School has
started the journey to becoming a world class technical center.
The committee, made up of representatives from business,
industry, education and parents of the community, officially
began the task of turning the county's technical high facility
into a charter school. The transformation of the school
will be a cooperative effort between Floyd County Schools,
Coosa Valley Technical College and the Greater Rome Chamber
of Commerce.
Mr. Kelly Henson, superintendent
of Floyd County Schools, Dr. Craig McDaniel, president of
Coosa Valley Technical College and Al Hodge, president and
CEO of the Greater Rome Chamber of Commerce issued the challenge
of reaching four goals to the committee:
Design a school that will develop
and sustain a highly skilled work-force for the community.
Develop a program that will provide
a seamless transition between high school and post secondary
training
Meet the needs of business and
industry and improve the communities ability to attract
new business and industry to the community and
