Eight qualify for the state FBLA competition

Eight future business leaders from Floyd County high schools advanced to the State FBLA Leadership Conference to be held in Athens in March by placing first in the FBLA Region 8 competition held this week at Ringgold High School.  Jerry Cable, Addie Grace Trejo, and Madison Bartlett, all juniors at Armuchee High; Kasana Page, a junior, and Dequan Johnson, a senior at Coosa High; and Avery Quarles, Meredith Crego, and Barton Sopata, all freshmen at Model High have advanced in the FBLA competition.

Cable took first place in Economics in the Region 8 competition held on Wednesday.  Trejo placed first in Business Calculations and Barlett in Personal Finance for the Armuchee High team.

Page finished first in Accounting 1 and Johnson finished first in Sales Presentation for the Coosa High team. 

For the Model team, Quarles and Crego combined on a presentation to finish first in Introduction to Business presentation.  Sopata placed first in Public Speaking 1.

Madison Bartlett, a junior, placed 1st in Personal Finance
Addie Grace Trejo, a junior, placed 1st as an individual in Sports and Entertainment Management
Anna Smith and Brandy Ann Wacker, juniors, placed 2nd as a team in Global Business
Brandy Ann Wacker placed 2nd as an individual in Global Business
Addie Grace Trejo and Karson Fallin, juniors, placed 2nd as a team in Sports and Entertainment Management
Jessi Howell, as senior, placed 3rd in Entrepreneurship
Alyssa Landing and Stephen Mathis, juniors. placed 3rd as a team in Marketing
Landing also placed 3rd in Spreadsheet Applications

Coosa High
Kasana Page, a junior, placed 1st in Accounting 1
Dequan Johnson, a senior, placed 1st in Sales Presentation
Johnson also placed 2nd in Help Desk
Alexys Davis, a junior placed 3rd in Publication Design

Model High
Avery Quarles and Meredith Crego, freshmen, placed 1st in Introduction to Business Presentation
Barton Sopata, a freshman, placed 1st in Public Speaking
Jhavian Redwine, a senior, placed 3rd in Job Interview

Model High also placed third for the Membership Award with 135 FBLA members.
