This is the last day for new student registration for the 2016–2017 school year at the school system central office. Registration will run through 11 a.m. this morning.
"We want to make registration as simple as possible for our parents new to the system and hope the multiple days and varied times will be more convenient," stated Dr. John Jackson, superintendent of Floyd County Schools.
New student registration is for students new to the school system or students who have moved to a new attendance area within the system. Students moving to a new school due to advancing to the next grade level in the same attendance area the child attended school last year would not need to register on this date. An example of a child not needing to attend would be one moving from an elementary school to a middle school in the same attendance area.
What is needed for registration?
