The Coosa High Lady Eagles cheerleading squad completed a perfect cheer season by taking the Class AA state title at the GHSA State Championships held on Saturday, November 14 in Columbus.
The Coosa squad completed the entire regular season placing first in all five competitions the girls participated in during the year.  The Lady Eagles placed their perfect record on the line in the region championships at Carrollton last week with an eye on repeating as region champs.  The team won the Region 7-AA title and earned the right to compete in the state finals.

The Coosa team featured a high difficulty routine that they performed to near perfection on Saturday to complete the season sweep and earn another state title for the Coosa community.

The team featured three seniors: Raven Ayer, Abigail Ayers, and LeAnn Marshall.  Ayer and Ayers were on the team when Coosa won their last state title in 2012.

Armuchee High's competition cheerleaders finished second in the state competition in their attempt to defend their state title won last year.  The Lady Indians had to take the hard route as they finished fourth in region and were required to compete in sectionals on Friday in Columbus.  The Lady Indians finished second in sectionals to reach the finals.  Armuchee saved their best for last but it was not enough to overtake the Lady Eagles in the state finals.
