Heart Artwork
You find a lot more heart on Broad Street in Rome these days thanks to two senior art students from Pepperell High School.  Olivia Escutia and Ashleigh Bradford created a work of art shaped like a heart and their work is on display in front of Schroeder's on Broad Street downtown.  The artwork was created through involvement in the Redmond Hospital HeART Project. This is the second year of the Redmond program and the two Pepperell senior's work is on display along with 15 other hearts produced by local artists.

Escutia and Bradford
applied for and won the opportunity to participate in the Redmond Program, which promotes heart health through community involvement in the arts!  The girl's work will be on display the entire month of February? The hearts are made of plaster and painted with acrylic paint. The work is then varnished so that it can withstand the weather. The theme of the girl's work is "Starry Starry Rome", a take on Vincent Van Gogh's Starry Night.

Escutia is well known as an artist in the community as she has won Best in Show at the Coosa Valley Fair art contest for the last two years.
