High Q
Coosa High's soaring IQ was on display as a team from the school won their first round match taped last night for WSB-TV's High Q program.  High Q is a television game show formatted public affairs program that pits high school teams against one another. The teens match wits in a fast-paced barrage of questions on a variety of topics during the 30 minute broadcast.  This is a spoiler alert!  The Coosa match will not be on WSB-TV Channel 2 until Saturday at 12:30 p.m. There are five rounds in the competition to crown a High Q champion.

The Coosa team of Devin Rhodes, Alex Mitchell, Chad Cawthon and Keily Rowland took on a team from Oglethorpe High in last night's contest.  It was a close match but the Coosa team pulled it out with a ten point win in a 330 to 320 final score.  The Coosa contestants are part of the Coosa High Academic Decathlon team.  The entire team attended the taping with Kris Bobo, Kayla Ngo, Levi Farmer, Dequan Johnson and Emily Fickett serving as alternates for the contest.  The Coosa team is coached by Randy Vice and Bill Daughtry.

Coosa will move on to the next round to face Community Christian from Stockbridge.  Community Christian defeated Johnson Ferry Christian 300 to 290 in a matched aired on Saturday, January 24 on WSB.  The contest between Coosa High and Community Christian will be taped the last week of March and be on Channel 2 on Saturday, March 28.
