Darien Pasley, an eighth-grade student at Pepperell Middle School, has received an invitation to play on the Football University (FBU) National Championship Team for Team Atlanta.  Pasley joins teammate Tucker McCoy, also an eighth-grader at Pepperell, who was selected to the team in October.

Football University is an invitation-only, one-of-a-kind football training experience focusing on developing and enhancing the playing ability and skill of elite-level athletes in middle and high school. The training is provided by the NFL's top coaches and players.  Organizers of the team are the producers of the U.S. Army All-American Bowl.

The players will be part of a 35-man team made up of teens from around the state of Georgia.  The teams will participate in bracket play during the months of October and November.  There are 192 teams nationwide across 16 regions of the country. Only 12 teams will advance to the FBU Championship to be played in Naples, Florida.  Of the twelve teams, four will be selected from each age bracket.  The teams will have to prove they are among the best in the country as they seek to advance in the single elimination tournament.  The winning teams in each division will be FBU National Champions.

Pasley plays for the Pepperell Middle Dragons and is the starting outside linebacker on defense and tailback on offense.  The Dragons just won their third consecutive middle school championship.  Pasley has been a starter for two seasons.  During that time, the Dragons have a perfect 16-0 record.
