FisherTwo Model High School seniors are not old enough to be inducted but they were honored by the Rome-Floyd Sports Hall of Fame with John Pinson Jr. Student Athlete Scholarship Awards at the organization’s annual banquet held on Monday at Berry College.  Model High swept the award that had male and female nominations from each area high school.

Davy Fisher, a senior Blue Devil basketball star; and Laura Graben, a senior soccer, cross country and volleyball leader at Model; each received the John Pinson Jr. Student Athlete Scholarship Award.  Fisher led the Model team to the state basketball tournament this season as a leader on and off the court.  Graben is a 4.0 G.P.A. honors student at Model to go with her all-around athletic talent she displayed during her four years in high school.

Other Floyd County student athletes nominated for the award were: Kylee Daitz and Cal Russell, Armuchee High; Mary Corbin and Hinter Storey, Coosa High; Savannah Barnett and Hayden Owen, Pepperell High.
