Model High School graduates Steven Powers, Jack Moss and their band Jerry On The Moon will open for '70s classic rock legend band Atlanta Rhythm Section at a show scheduled for The Forum in Rome on Saturday.

Powers, class of 2006 at Model, and Moss, class of 2007, are looking forward to returning home and performing with a band of Atlanta Rhythm Section's stature in the rock community. "We are excited to be playing in Rome and opening for the Atlanta Rhythm Section," stated Steven Powers, bass player for Jerry On The Moon. "We play all over the southeast in cities like Birmingham, Tuscaloosa, Nashville, Athens, and Atanta."  Atlanta Rhythm Section is best known for the hits So Into YouChampagne Jam, Imaginary Lover and Spooky.

From their press bio, Jerry On The Moon is described as a unique high energy funk-blues-jam style band rooted deeply in a southern flavored sound.  Jerry On The Moon is: Jack Moss on guitar; Steven Powers, bass; Jedd Lovel, drums, and Adam Klingensmith, guitar. "Our first full-length studio album will be released late spring or early summer this year," stated Powers. "Jack and I also plan to perform for the Model Revue again this year."  The Model Revue is an annual talent show at Model High School featuring students and graduates of Model.
