Academic excellence and academic success of our students
are top priorities in Floyd County Schools. Positive
results of this commitment to academic performance are
evident in the test scores of our students on the standardized
tests required by the state and federal governments. Floyd
County students consistently score higher on standardized
test than the state average.
Floyd County Schools record of success in state and national
testing was recognized by Standard and Poor’s last
year. The school system was named a 2006 Standard
and Poor’s “Outperformer” in Georgia. Only
20 Georgia school districts made the company's list of
academic "outperformers." The "outperformers" recognition
requires a school system to achieve higher percentages
of students scoring at or above state standards on reading
and math tests, achieve proficiency levels that are above
the threshold for the expected performance of its student
population, and achieve at this level on a consistent basis.
Floyd County students consistently exhibit academic excellence
and experience academic success. |
